What Happens When We Snap?

Snapped is one of my favorite television programs. But I wonder what really happens when someone snaps? Do their rationale thought processes just stop? Are they triggered by a particular action? I guess I would have to speak with a trained person who has dealt with these cases.

I do have my days like most people, filled with stress or heartache, but athough I may stress for a little on something, I pass it to Jesus. I turn on my music and dance with my children. I get my cutlass and cut grass, till the soil or write.

We have to find ways to cope with our problems. While we may say that we are outnumberd, embarrassed or hurt by another, it really might not be that way. Each person is a seperate individual. What you might think is important, I may disregard as silly. We just have to understand each other and severe ties when needed.

It makes no sense to hang on to someone who does not reciprocate the feelings you share. In these cases you just have to let go. It's not that hard. Pray, meditate, let go and move on.

Prayer for the June Weddings

Dear God,

As we celebrate many weddings during this month, we thank you for the gift of love. Without love, life is empty and there would be no unity. We pray that as the many couple join in their unions that they will be blessed and keep their love strong. Father, depart every stumbling block that may obstruct their union. Shut down every negative force and help them to build a marraige built on trust, faith, patience and understanding. Father, keep them safe, make them fruitful and bless them with a stable life. Father, we thank you for all that you have done for us and pray that your extend your mercies to us. In your name I pray.

AMEN

No Dull Moments Here!

Lemongrass

I had some fun outside today and have two blisters to show for it. I had a cutlass and clipper and went to town on the grass in my way. This method takes forever oppposed to using a weedeater. However, if your finances are low and you are tired of the itchy grass, then you have to bend down and cut and clip. I surely got some Vitamin E today but it was hot!

I did my eco-friendly thing and hung the clothes on the line to dry. I've folded those that need to be and will iron shortly. I messed up my cornbread recipe because I did not have any oil and substituted for butter. I think we had corn pudding instead but the flavor was good just the texture was off.

I think I'll be putting some tilapeia in the oven tomorrow. YUMMY! I can already smell and taste it - with some lime and garlic and fresh tomatos. I think I'll add some white rice with that or maybe some baked potatos. I do love my oven. If the oven malfunctions, the whole stove has got to go.

This is a Saturday for me - now a little different thanks to my Mom for getting me the washing machine. If I really do not have to go to town - I will not. I think I will save more money if I use what I have to eat. I do realize that many of the goodies I want to make require cooking oil so I need to get a bottle  early on Monday to take home.

My life - never a dull moment.

Interesting June

June has started off with a few unfortunate incidents. However, God is in the midst of it all. All I can tell the people in my circle is that we have to be strong and persevere. We can not waste time stressing out ourselves and holding malice for one another.

There is a lot of positive work that needs to be done in our communities. We have a lot of hurting people and we have to stand in the gap for each other and especially for our children. Our children need that community love once again. They are out of hand and need to be reigned in. We have a lot of work to do and must do it together.

Let us offer comfort, encouragement and help to those who are struggling and hurting. Even if it's a text message or an email, send some love to someone who you know needs it. Life is short so we have to keep helping each other.

Another BVI Holiday - Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee

We all love holidays. Today the BVI is joining with the UK to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. That really is a great feat for her and my congratulations are extended to the Royal Family on another milestone. The BVI has a large parade planned.

I will be chilling at home today - definitely watching TV, combing hair, maybe baking, ironing and just relaxing. I thank my Premier and his Cabinet for approving this holiday. It is a great day for the beach but I have no transportation so all I can do is look at the water.

However, it is a good day to relax so I hope everyone will take the time to do that!

Prayer for June 1, 2012

Dear Lord,

As we enter into another month, another period, any stage in life, we ask for your continuous blessings upon us. We have so much to be thankful for and we do not always show our gratitude. Lord, as we enter this hurricane season, we ask for your mercies upon us. We pray that everyone can make it through safely - those in our midst and our brothers and sisters in other country. Lord, as we face our trials, give us patience, humility, strength and the peace of mind in knowing that your love is always there for us.

AMEN

POEM: Sun Ray

Sometimes life seems so wack
like nails are being pounded in your back
but don't worry about the stuff you lack
cause you can't always fill the sack
some days are flat
I know the days I've sat
playing like a cool cat
on a thin bleached out mat
wondering when I'll be rich
cause it seems a like wish
and the more I stitch
the darker the pitch
in my pathway
and sometimes the things I say
are worth than my pay
and keep me moving every day
and while I'll play
and dance like a bluejay
I won't be a shade of gray
but a sparking sun ray
