Truth is ...

Truth is...
no one likes plagiarism
poempeople tend to be fake
children speak their minds openly
many people do not utilize their talents
many of us are in the wrong profession
too many of us hold grudges
many people are underappreciated
teachers have a lot of work to do
lawyers should give half their salaries to teachers
my ideas are not the same as yours
you may get offended by something on this list
I'll hear your side but will stick with mine

The truth is simply the truth. You don't have to agree or comply, but it is what it is.

I am the 5%.....

They say that when you join an organization, you have to accept its culture. I guess I'm the 5% that really needs to be a hermit. My stomach for nonsense is very small. I hate disorganization and foolishness. I think what peeves me the most is when everyone disregards your needs but wants you to help them to make them look good.

People who are users are the worst kind to be around and work with. Well, maybe they are on the level with the nitpickers, the lazy ones and hypocrites. I'm not perfect and I don't pretend to be. However, I can make things happen. I put my best foot first EVERY TIME! I don't need to be acknowledged for it. However, I expect that if I am in a team, that 110% will be given by ALL.

I am the 5% of people who will be vocal, be boisterous and be dissatisfied with the mediocre. I am the 5% of people that have no tolerance for stupidness. I am also the 5% that will be in the midst of mess and still try to save face.

How long can that go on? It's time for a change!

POEM: Changes

poem

Performed at Artists Against Addiction Showcase
Today as we embrace another beautiful day
Let’s be thankful for the great things that have come our way
In life there are struggles and down times
But we still have to find it in ourselves to smile
No matter what challenge you are facing
Or what heavy decision you are debating
We have to make certain changes
And It may take a whole live rearrangement
Because the choices we make today
Determine our life’s pathway
So let’s strive to make healthy choices
and resist temptations’ devices
there are so many negatives out there in our way
but we have to decide what part we play
even if you feel that you are in too deep
and you can’t find rest and you just can’t sleep
there is a better way
and there’s just one word that you have to say
and it’s “help”
stop and pray
don’t let drugs or alcohol be in your relay
because those choices are the wrong ones
and sooner or later, your soul will be gone
so instead of taking addictions path
stand your ground and awaken your heart
Make life changes that can take you higher
And Let good be your heart’s desire
Surround yourself with positivity
And Let love be a part of your gravity
Raise yourself and stand proud in dignity
Because your healthy choices help to build a healthy community

Coming in Hot, Left & Right

This is just another one of those days when things are coming left and right. However, I keep repeating one thing - it is what it is. I don't remember who I picked that up from but it's true. Challenges come and yes they do. However, God's grace is always there.

We have to be understanding and just deal with what we have to deal with. We may not always like situations but what can we do but try our best, pray and stay strong. God is there for ALL of us. He will leave anyone behind.

To those who are suffering, have faith. It is simply said but true. To those who are grieving, don't give up, God will give you balance and ease your pain. To those who are in distress, never feel that you are alone for there are others who are reaching out to you to comfort you.

We can only do what we can do in our power. If you can help, do that. If you find that you are a stumbling block, then get out of the way. Life is going to happen regardless and while we do not like the outcome of matters, we just have to deal with it. Be strong.

I pray that God blesses those who mourn at this time.

Knowing Your Limits and Evoking Change

We all know what our limits are. You might be able to take more than I can. Limits apply to physical activity and also to mental and emotional state. You may be able to hold in your tears which I can't. I may be able run faster or further than you can.

When it comes to dealing with nonsense, that's another type of limitation. Everyone has their boiling point. I have limited tolerance for stupidness so you can say I have little patience. Another point to look at is the way we deal with problems. Should we hold in our thoughts and ideas for the fear of offending another - even when improvement is possible in the end?

Leaders have to look closely at these things. What is truly acceptable? I find things are very lax because of we are on pins and needles afraid to offend the other person. If I am wrong, please correct me. Do not let me fail or fall. Point me in the right direction please.

This is why the world is in peril. We are too afraid to make those tough decisions when we see that we are reaching our limits. I am never saying that we must blatantly offend each other; however we should seek to be problem solvers who can bring a matter to a close.

What has been bugging you and what can you do to make a difference?
