Tia Mowry Leaving The Game

Tia Mowry seems to be leaving The Game after five great seasons. I do love the show but I guess everyone has to move forward professionally and personally. The Game brought a lot of memorable moments for Tia's character, Melanie Barnett-Davis. The Game was a spin-off of Girlfriends, was cancelled, went into syndication and was relaunched by BET. It is a show that made history.

We saw Melanie grow from a college student into a wife, a stepmother and Sunbeam president. We saw her depressed, unsettled and lonely. Everyone was upset with Derwin for cheating on her and we were happy when they got married.

The Game has been enjoyable and it was nice to see one of the few remaining African-American sitcoms on television. Kudos to Tia for a great jon acting as Melanie - Ms. Boogey, Med School etc.

BET, you did not give a good closure to her leaving. She did not say goodbye to Tasha and there was no tearful departure from Derwin. I guess unforseen circumstances are the cause for this incomplete episode tonight but nevertheless, Tasha and Pookie kept us entertained.

All I can say is please let us not make this a show about Quan Kirkland because he is not in anything unless he's fighting with Derwin.

I have enjoyed my Derwin and Melanie drama from since the show started on CW. Thanks to all the writers and CW and BET for bringing us The Game.

A Day for All Women - Mothers' Day

Today, we celebrate  segment of the women in the world. Because every woman is a mentor or nurtures someone - a man, another woman or a child - she is a mother. We should congratulate and appreciate all of our women.

Many struggle with having children and we must not discount this. It is so strange that those who really want children, sometimes have such difficulty. Those do not have the means to support children have many babies.

However, God is control of everything and I will not question his plan. Sometimes, he needs people to use people in other ways. We just have to be grateful for the life we have and be gracious to those around us.

Celebrate all the positive women in your life today.

Forever Music easily appeals to anyone who enjoys R&B and Hip Hop because it has an energetic urban vibe.
  • "Speaker Love": This song has the perfect title even though it is a short track that is just under three minutes. "Hear my love through these speakers/ can you hear my love go boom?" is the first line of the hook. "I wrote this song so you can hear me through your radio" and "turn the heights down, leave the treble so/ listen to my heart beating like a drum" are some of the creative and metaphoric lyrics that show the singer's lyrical talent.

  • "On and On": This is definitely a catchy and mellow track. It has a very modern instrumental and the artist gives an enticing performance as he repeats "I can't get enough of your love/ I can't get enough of your touch/ I can't get enough of you baby" at the beginning of the hook.
  • "More and More": This is one of the softer and slower tracks on Forever Music. The entire composition is perfectly put together with its seductive lyrics, sultry melody and engaging performance. In this song, B'More also showcases his vocal range while delivering lyrics like "the simple smile, hello/ the way her body flows/ the art of independent/ the glow in her eyes, I can't be resistant" in the first verse.

B'More has a lot of creative energy and he showcases it through his lyrics and vocal performance. The 2012 mix tape Forever Music is only a small sample of this artist's work. He is an R&B artist who is very dedicated to his music and shows this through his engaging stage presence. We can be sure to look forward to more great releases coming from B'More in the future.

Poem: Prayer for Women

Dear God, I beg you to bless all the ladies
from here and across the face of the earth
they are sweeter than the beautiful daises
and are true nurturers from their birth
This prayer is for the mothers, aunts and sisters
who care for their friends and family
these ladies are dedicated caretakers
who do their duty cheerfully and happily
To all the ladies around the world today
Bless their dear and giving hearts, Lord
They may have pain in some way
and may need motivation from Your Word
Bless them with every step they take
Bless them for every heartache
Help them with every decision they make
All of this I pray in your name's sake
AMEN

The Cows were OUT for sure

I always tell you something about cows on the loose. My daughter has even dreamed about a cow biting her arm.

Today I have breaking news for my readers. The usual group of cows visited my yard on Saturday but they met a surprise – no grass. We cut all the grass and I guess this got the ‘born here’ cows upset. One of them rudely bit the top off of my pigeon pea tree. However, this was not the end of the ordeal.

I thought about logging onto the internet to post a new blog entry and to my surprise, I had no service. I checked the phone line and there was no dial tone. I headed to the roof only to find that the telephone wire was broken.

I wondered what malicious person could have destroyed my telephone line. Did I owe someone? Could it be that there is money in telephone wire now? Then I remembered that I saw several hoof prints in the yard. This could mean only one thing – the cows must have been out! The cows were out!

I must have angered them by cutting all the glorious grass so they got mad and took what they thought meant the most to me – my internet.

I laugh at the cows because they are so silly. It is raining so much now and the grass will grow back up fast and juicier. I think the cows are still mad at me for moving into their space and destroying one of their main food sources. I guess I had no right to build a house where they eat and rest.

The cows are smart and they will do what they have to do and that’s eat, sleep and poop on the way. I am thankful for the manure and the grazing. However, I wish they would leave my pigeon peas alone. I mean, really – why the pigeon peas tree?!

Watch out cause the cows might be out in your area too!

POEM: Watch Out

While I've never been entangled in conspiracy
I have always been a sucker for humanity
as I bring my words and sharpen my sword
I think about the good and evil that has occurred
and give a hand to help the needy
and disregard those that even today remain greedy
you know them, they are money hungry misers
always planning a scheme and plotting to divide us
but I've got a plan to ignore and repel them
cause their kind carries a light that's dim
I ain't got no time to waste with such schemers
I'm a powerful force and a positive dreamer
so confusion, you stay far from me
watch me pass and let me be
cause with me - my love is the key
and for sure, I am more than the being you see

Me & De TV

I am such a couch potato. I have my TV viewing set by days. Monday is Law & Order SVU, Tuesday is The Game and Let's Stay Together on BET and Wednesday is Restaurant Impossible. Thursday is sometimes Law & Order Criminal Intent and Friday is Monk. Saturday is Suze Orman! My cable service, a monopoly is not the greatest but at least I can see interesting programs like American Greed and Chopped.

I wish I could work fulltime on the set of a show like American Greed or Snapped (my Sunday pasttime) where I can help with the research, do interviews and make sparkling commentary. Maybe I can host a Caribbean Snapped but we'll call it Chopped. The cooking competition could be called Who Ga De Best.

These are just my fun thoughts - the thought of a couch potato.
